Cook For Kids
Fab, Fun and Full of Nutrition

"Children will always eat good food but they don’t always know what’s bad for them. It’s up to us to make the right food goooood!”

Cook for Kids is a cooking program for helpers who are in charge of preparing meals for young children. The program plans for nutrition, cooks for taste and serves for fun!"

Plan for Nutrition
The 8 week program begins by introducing helpers to the nutritional needs of children. Using memory tools like the Rainbow of Fruits and Vegetables and the program’s battlecry “Fab, Fun and Full” it will be easy for helpers to visualise how to plan a child’s menu not only for nutritional completeness but also for variety and appeal.

There are other tools like the 70-30 Rule and Inside Out shopping list. We list the food for shopping not according to recipe ingredients but according to what our insides need! We discuss nutritional elements like food high in fiber, good cholesterols, Omega 3 sources, high energy foods, glycemicresponses, intelligent organic food buying and more. The result will be a well-informed, well-armed helper who will view food preparation for children with a healthy eating attitude.

“We will win the battle for greens if we cook to their delight!”

Cook for Taste
Our little explorers are just now developing their sense of taste; their likes and dislikes.  Give them fresh and make it taste fabulous and we’ve got them hooked for life. All the recipes will pack flavor punch without packing the sodium and the sugar. Helpers will learn to extract and work with the natural flavors of food to maximum effect.

The cooking methods will focus on preserving as much of the food’s nutritional goodness. Microwave cooking is definitely out; baking, grilling, sauteeing, poaching, steaming are in! Helpers will be taught how to puree vegetables to create amazing soups and sauces, and use the same for tasty mashes or how to use light cheeses to make creamy dressings. We will continually explore how to inject vegetables in masterfully tasty ways!

Serve for Fun
Our little gourmands know how to have fun. Playful food have a good chance of enticing our children to become healthy consumers. They will associate the right food with fun!

Serve food the way children love to eat – with their fingers. We will explore finger foods like wraps, sandwiches, baked nuggets of chicken or fish, and fun colorful dips for cruditesand baked chips….

Turn simple sandwiches into puzzle pieces! Design cars from wraps. Cruditescan be made into faces, flowers and animals with a few simple strokes. Imagine pink dips from the color of beetroot! It could be so much fun children will want to make their own food too!
