Cooking With Chef Real

Our new Chef, Cynthia Real, will be sharing the secrets learnt from her many years of experience as Head Chef in various restaurants around Hong Kong. She has adapted the methods and recipes to suit the home chef.
Ms Real has worked her way from kitchen supervisor to head chef at a few Hong Kong establishments more notably the Hong Kong Press Club. Cooking is one of Chef Real's passions and she is extremely pleased to be helping cooking enthusiasts hone their crafts at home.

The Course Format

You may select individual cooking courses as you wish or book the entire package.
A minimum of 4 courses qualifies for a Certificate of Completion.

The cooking courses are hands on unless otherwise indicated. This means
participants will perform the food preparation and cooking. You are encouraged to sendalong containers to bring back tasting samples. 

The menu plan has been structured so that an entire meal can be prepared on Day One with
accompaniments. The chosen desserts are not heavy on baking techniques so that even first-timers can successfully create them.  

Each course incorporates a certain amount of cooking theory such as food hygiene,
how to buy and cook meats and fish, spice vocabulary, for example. Even seasoned cooks will pick up new information along the way.

Who Should Attend

The course is designed principally to train helpers on cooking. But food enthusiasts are also welcome!

The class size will be limited to a maximum of 10 participants. So do book early!

Location

The courses are held at 36A Island Road, DeepWaterBay.
 
It is one bus stop after the Deep Water Bay Golf Club on the 260, 6A, 6X or 73 bus routes. It’s just a walk across the street from there. Expect to travel roughly 20 minutes from Central by bus.
